December 14, 2017 BOE Meeting

Board of Education meeting on December 14th
Before officially starting our meeting, Board of Education President, Zoltan Ambrus spoke:

“Before we begin, on behalf of the Board of Education I want to acknowledge the sudden and untimely passing of Bob Motz.

Mr. Motz was a beloved physical education teacher at Whiton School. He touched the lives of many of our students. Mr. Motz began his tenure in Branchburg Schools as an adaptive physical education teacher for students with disabilities. He saw teaching and coaching as a calling. He served as a volunteer mentor. He believed in the potential of every student. He helped his students grow physically and emotionally.

Further, Mr. Motz served on several school committees and was awarded Teacher of the Year. His life was an exemplary one of contribution. He was not just a teacher of children, he was also a firefighter volunteer and an active recreation coach. He will be deeply missed by his colleagues, his students and his community.

Nevertheless, it is important to remember his family will be missing him the most. He leaves behind a wife of 26 years and 3 children. They deserve all of our thoughts and prayers and support at this time, particularly noting that Jan Motz, his wife, is also a member of our staff at BCMS.”

The meeting was then called to order.

At our Board of Education meeting on December 14, 2017, Ms. Gensel introduced the BCMS Orchestra who entertained us by performing two pieces, under the direction of Ms. Cordell.

The resolution reads in part:

Whereas, we as members of the Branchburg Township Board of Education wish to extend our utmost appreciation for the work that fellow Board members have done to make education in Branchburg Schools a worthwhile and productive experience for all students.
