Ms. Gensel then had the pleasure of reading a letter from Governor Christie honoring Whiton second grade teacher Dawn Eelman. It reads in part:

“On behalf of the state of New Jersey I am pleased to recognize your outstanding contribution as a teacher in the state of New Jersey.

The residents of our state are fortunate to benefit from teachers like you who are committed to the positive growth and development of our young students. Education is a lifelong process that benefits individuals and entire communities and helps lay the foundation for our future. We should all express our gratitude to teachers like you who seek to offer students a thirst for knowledge, a solid education and the inspiration to achieve and excel throughout life.”

Ms. Gensel continued, on behalf of the Board of Education we thank Mrs. Eelman for her commitment that she has to the students of Branchburg and the untiring amount of energy that she puts forth for our students. Thank you very much, we are very happy to have you here with us.
